Our Mission
Psykout! is a non-profit theatre company dedicated to producing theatre projects that center around themes of science, technology, and philosophy, and, in particular, works that seek to subvert the public perception of science, technology, and philosophy.
The Team
IAN MELAMED
President
The founder and president of Psykout!, Ian Melamed originally wanted to pursue astrophysics. However, after auditioning for a production of Legally Blonde in high school he was totally hooked on acting. He graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dramatic Arts in 2023
Since graduating, Ian has become an award winning filmmaker and actor for his work on Serov, a feature film that he wrote, directed, starred in, edited, and composed the music for. Ian is also an accomplished cellist, having taken lessons from eminent musician and pedagogue David Krieger.
In his spare time, Ian enjoys reading, painting his old Warhammer 40k miniatures, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. He also loves to talk about the latest developments in science, and technology.
Everett Weinstein
Scientific consultant
Psykout!’s very rad scientific consultant, Everett is a researcher in the field of stem cells and regenerative medicine. He is a PhD candidate at Columbia University in the Integrated Program for Cellular, Molecular, and Biomedical Studies, with a concentration on Stem Cell Biology and Cell Biology. Of his own research he has said, “My ambition is to contribute to the growing field of regenerative medicine and increase the potential of stem-cell based therapies.”
Everett is also a Dungeons and Dragons connoisseur, and has maintained a regular campaign with Ian, and a few of their high school friends for nearly six years!

Business Manager
Anabella Maria Galang is a Fillipino-American cancer researcher, writer, and entrepreneur who founded Steminist Movement, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to making STEM more accessible to middle school girls in rural areas. She studied Biological Sciences (Concentration in Genetics, Genomics Development) and Business at Cornell University. In the future, Anabella has career aspirations to become a physician scientist bridging the gap between bench and bedside to better serve patients. In her free time, Anabella enjoys rock climbing, spoken-word poetry, running, and singing and she is deeply passionate about health equity and accessibility.
